I’ve been noticing that many people who love adventure and excitement are having a particularly hard time living out the “christian life”. I don’t like that it happens like that. We’ve tried to sterilize life as christians. No more fun. Seeking God seems to become hard work. Ugh! It shouldn’t. Where has all the adventure gone in our lives? Didn’t Jesus come to BRING life? So why do people feel like they have to step outside of an obedient life to get adventure? I’m not saying that I can’t understand it, because honestly, I can.
Jesus, show us the abundant life!! You have to show us what this can look like in our lives. Because i know that you want us to live life to the fullest. Revive the Church with your adventure and excitement.
It makes me sad. Please help your Bride!!

I think it’s kind of like when we climbed the mountain. It was hard and exhausting, but exciting. When I view the way of Christ like that it fits a lot better.

Just randomly found your site by following links…
I love adventure. Do people REALLY have to step out of obedience to find adventure? I know your saying no… and I agree.
But its like when we become believers we see all the stuff all the good Christians are doing and we start to model our life after what tradition and society says a Christian should be. I think thats where the problem comes in.
Honeslty, I went through that. I didn’t grow up in church, only coming to know Jesus in my mid twenties. At first I was so excited about all the things I saw God doing. Then I started focusing on being a good Christian. That started to border on legalism. But over the last several years God has really moved me into a totaly differant area.
An area where I have decided to just let go and respond when I hear him. That is so different than responding to what other Christians are telling me. Talk about adventure!! God has so put me in places and situations that have been simply unbelievable and full of adrenaline I might add.
Not so sure I’m explaining it very well… All I know is God has brought me through religion and is leading me down a path of incredible breathtaking adventures.
